Entrotil 2.5mg/0.025 mg Tablet, made by Danas, is an anti-diarrhoea medicine that slows the bowel. Its active ingredient is Diphenoxylate + Atropine 2.5mg/0.025mg, and it is used for acute diarrhoea. Pack size: 50×10 tablets.

Uses of Entrotil 2.5mg/0.025 mg Tablet

Entrotil 2.5mg/0.025 mg Tablet is used for the short-term relief of diarrhoea in adults, alongside plenty of fluids or oral rehydration solution to replace what has been lost. It reduces how often you need to go and makes stools firmer. It is not meant for diarrhoea caused by bacterial infection with fever or blood in the stool, where slowing the bowel can do more harm than good.

How Entrotil 2.5mg/0.025 mg Tablet works

Diphenoxylate is related to the opioids and acts on the gut wall to slow the movement of the bowel, giving more time for water to be absorbed. A very small amount of atropine is added to discourage taking more than prescribed, as excess amounts cause unpleasant effects.
