Co-Renitec 10/25mg Tablet

Co-Renitec 10/25mg Tablet, made by Obs, is an ACE inhibitor and thiazide diuretic combination for blood pressure. Its active ingredient is Enalapril + Hydrochlorothiazide 10/25mg, and it is used for high blood pressure. Pack size: 2×10 tablets.

Uses of Co-Renitec 10/25mg Tablet

Co-Renitec 10/25mg Tablet is used to treat high blood pressure, usually in people whose blood pressure has not been controlled well enough by one medicine alone. Keeping blood pressure within a healthy range lowers the long-term risk of stroke, heart attack, heart failure and kidney damage. It controls blood pressure rather than curing it, so it is normally taken long term.

How Co-Renitec 10/25mg Tablet works

Enalapril blocks an enzyme that makes angiotensin II, a hormone that tightens blood vessels, so the vessels relax and widen. Hydrochlorothiazide is a water tablet that helps the kidneys remove extra salt and water. Working together, the two lower blood pressure more than either would on its own.

Possible side effects

Most people get on well with Co-Renitec 10/25mg Tablet, although some notice mild side effects such as:

• Dry, tickly cough
• Dizziness or light-headedness, especially on standing
• Headache
• Tiredness
• Muscle cramps
• Passing urine more often

Get urgent medical help if your face, lips, tongue or throat swell or you have difficulty breathing. Also seek advice quickly if you faint, develop a severe rash, or notice yellowing of the skin or eyes.

Precautions and warnings

• Do not take Co-Renitec 10/25mg Tablet if you are pregnant or trying to become pregnant, as it can harm the unborn baby; tell your doctor straight away if you become pregnant.
• Tell your doctor if you have kidney disease, gout, diabetes, or have ever had swelling of the face or throat with an ACE inhibitor.
• Avoid potassium supplements, salt substitutes and regular painkillers such as ibuprofen unless your doctor agrees, and mention it if you take lithium.
• Get up slowly from sitting or lying, especially in the first few days, and take care in hot weather or if you have vomiting or diarrhoea, as you may become dehydrated.
• Your doctor will check your blood pressure, kidney function and salt levels with regular blood tests.

Storage

Store below 30°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep it in the original pack until use. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children.
