Uses of Dozypress T E/D

Dozypress T E/D eye drops are used to lower raised pressure inside the eye in people with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. Keeping eye pressure under control helps protect the optic nerve and prevent gradual, permanent loss of vision.

How Dozypress T E/D works

Dorzolamide is a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor and timolol is a beta-blocker. Each reduces the amount of fluid (aqueous humour) the eye produces, but in a different way, so together they lower eye pressure more than either drop alone.

Possible side effects

Most side effects of Dozypress T E/D affect the eye, although a few are felt elsewhere. Common ones include:

• Stinging or burning in the eye

• Blurred vision
• Eye redness or itching
• Dry eyes
• Headache

Seek urgent help for wheezing or breathlessness, a very slow heartbeat, fainting, eye pain or sudden vision changes, or a severe allergic reaction.

Precautions and warnings

• Use it every day at the same time; glaucoma usually has no symptoms but damages sight if untreated.
• Press on the inner corner of the eye for a minute after use to reduce absorption into the body.
• Keep regular eye pressure checks.
• Tell your doctor if you have asthma, COPD, a slow heartbeat, heart failure or kidney disease.
• Let your doctor know if you are allergic to sulfonamide (sulfa) medicines, as dorzolamide is related to them.

Storage
