Orion 20mg Tablet is a tablet made by Ferozsons Laboratories Limited that contains Olmesartan 20mg, an angiotensin receptor blocker (ARB). It is used for high blood pressure. Pack size: 10 tablets.

Uses of Orion 20mg Tablet

Orion 20mg Tablet is used to treat high blood pressure in adults and in children and teenagers over six years old. Lowering blood pressure reduces the long-term risk of heart attack, stroke and kidney damage. It can be used on its own or combined with other blood pressure medicines, such as amlodipine or hydrochlorothiazide, when one medicine is not enough.

How Orion 20mg Tablet works

Olmesartan blocks the receptors for angiotensin II, a natural hormone that narrows blood vessels and makes the body hold on to salt and water. With this hormone blocked, the blood vessels relax and widen, and blood pressure falls.

Precautions and warnings

• Your doctor may check kidney function and potassium levels; avoid potassium supplements or salt substitutes unless advised.
• Tell your doctor if you take anti-inflammatory painkillers, lithium or aliskiren, or have kidney, liver or heart problems.
• It must not be used during pregnancy and is not recommended while breastfeeding.
