How Oxy Fair Cream 15gm works

Arbutin is a skin-lightening ingredient that reduces melanin production, gradually fading dark spots and uneven skin tone.

Kojic acid reduces the production of melanin by blocking the enzyme tyrosinase, which helps dark patches to fade.

Hydroquinone blocks tyrosinase, an enzyme that skin cells need to make melanin, the pigment that gives skin its colour. With less new melanin being produced, darkened patches slowly fade as the skin naturally renews itself.

Possible side effects

Most people use this product without problems. Some may notice:

• Redness, dryness or contact dermatitis in sensitive skin
• Redness

• Dryness or peeling

Precautions

• Use a sunscreen during the day while using skin-lightening products.
• Use a sunscreen during the day, as sun exposure can bring the dark patches back. Do not use it for longer than your doctor advises.
• Do a small patch test first, and keep it away from the eyes, lips, inside of the nose and broken skin unless your doctor says otherwise.
• Stop using it and see your doctor if you notice severe redness, swelling, blistering or a rash.
• Ask your doctor or pharmacist before using it on children, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• Keep out of reach of children and store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
