Travocort Cream 10gm contains Isoconazole + Diflucortolone 10g, a topical antifungal and corticosteroid combination. Made by Schering Asia GMBH Pakistan, it is prescribed for fungal skin infections, ringworm, athlete's foot, jock itch, intertrigo and skin candidiasis. Pack size: 10 gm.

Uses of Travocort Cream 10gm

Travocort Cream 10gm is used on the skin to treat fungal infections that are inflamed, red and itchy. Examples include ringworm, athlete’s foot, jock itch, fungal infections in skin folds such as the groin or under the breasts, and yeast (candida) infections of the skin. The steroid gives quick relief from itching and inflammation while the antifungal treats the infection. It is intended for short-term use only.

How Travocort Cream 10gm works

Isoconazole is an azole antifungal that damages the cell membrane of fungi and yeasts, stopping them from growing. It also has some activity against certain bacteria. Diflucortolone is a potent corticosteroid that quickly reduces redness, swelling and itching.

Possible side effects

When used for a short time, Travocort Cream 10gm usually causes few problems. Possible side effects include:

• Burning or stinging where applied
• Itching
• Redness or irritation
• Dry skin

Stop using it and see a doctor if the skin becomes much more irritated, blisters, or oozes, if the infection spreads, or if you notice signs of an allergic reaction such as swelling.

Precautions and warnings

• Use Travocort Cream 10gm only for the short period your doctor advises; prolonged use of a strong steroid can thin the skin and cause stretch marks.
• Do not use it on the face, on broken skin or under tight dressings unless your doctor specifically tells you to.
• Avoid using it on skin affected by acne, rosacea, skin tuberculosis, chickenpox, herpes or other viral infections.
• Use in children, during pregnancy or while breastfeeding only on a doctor’s advice, and avoid applying it to the breasts when breastfeeding.
• Keep the affected area clean and dry, and avoid contact with the eyes.

Storage

Store below 30°C and keep the cap tightly closed. For external use only; avoid contact with the eyes unless the product is made for eye use. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children.
