Uses of Canesten Cream Extra 15gm

Canesten Cream Extra 15gm is used on the skin to treat fungal infections such as athlete’s foot, ringworm of the body, jock itch in the groin, candidal skin infections and pityriasis versicolor, which causes patches of lighter or darker skin. It helps clear the infection and relieves itching, scaling and redness. It is not intended for fungal nail infections unless specifically combined with a nail treatment.

How Canesten Cream Extra 15gm works

Bifonazole stops fungi from making ergosterol, an essential part of their cell membrane. Without it the membrane becomes weak and leaky, and the fungus can no longer grow. Bifonazole stays in the skin for a long time, which is why it is usually applied only once a day.
