Uses of Synflex-M Tablet

Synflex-M Tablet is used to treat migraine attacks, with or without aura, once the headache has started. Combining a triptan with an anti-inflammatory painkiller can help some people whose migraines do not respond well to either medicine alone. It treats individual attacks and is not used to prevent migraine or for other types of headache.

How Synflex-M Tablet works

Sumatriptan acts on serotonin (5-HT1) receptors around the brain’s blood vessels and nerves, narrowing widened vessels and blocking the release of pain chemicals. Naproxen is an NSAID that reduces prostaglandins, the chemicals that drive inflammation and pain.

Possible side effects

Precautions and warnings

• Do not take Synflex-M Tablet if you have heart disease, have had a heart attack or stroke, or have uncontrolled high blood pressure.
• Tell your doctor about any stomach ulcer, bleeding problem, asthma triggered by painkillers, or kidney or liver disease.
• Mention any antidepressants, especially SSRIs or SNRIs, because of a risk of serotonin syndrome, and do not use it close to ergotamine medicines.
• Using migraine treatments too often can lead to medication-overuse headache; keep to the limits your doctor sets.
• Avoid it in late pregnancy, and use it earlier in pregnancy or while breastfeeding only if your doctor advises.

Storage

Store below 30°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep it in the original pack until use. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children.
