Skilax Oral Drop 30ml is used for short-term relief of constipation. It is also used, usually combined with magnesium salts, to empty the bowel completely before a colonoscopy, X-ray or bowel surgery. When used for constipation it usually works within about 6 to 12 hours, which is why it is often taken in the evening.

How Skilax Oral Drop 30ml works

Sodium picosulfate is inactive until it reaches the large bowel, where bacteria convert it into its active form. This stimulates the muscles of the bowel wall to contract and also increases water in the bowel, helping stools to pass.
