Neolexa 15mg Tablet is used to treat depression and anxiety disorders, including generalised anxiety, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).
How Neolexa 15mg Tablet works
Escitalopram increases the level of serotonin, a brain chemical that helps regulate mood and anxiety. It usually takes two to four weeks before the benefit is felt.
Possible side effects
Side effects are most common in the first few weeks and often settle. They include:
- Nausea
- Headache
- Trouble sleeping or drowsiness
- Sweating
- Sexual problems
Contact your doctor straight away if you have thoughts of self-harm, feel unusually restless or agitated, or develop a fast heartbeat, high temperature and muscle stiffness.
Precautions and warnings
- Do not stop taking it suddenly; your doctor will reduce the dose gradually.
