Uses of Duride 40mg / 5mg Tablet

Duride 40mg / 5mg Tablet is used to remove excess fluid from the body when it builds up and causes swelling (oedema), for example in heart failure or liver disease. Clearing the extra fluid eases swelling of the legs and ankles and can make breathing easier. The combination is chosen when a strong water tablet is needed but potassium loss is a concern.

How Duride 40mg / 5mg Tablet works

Furosemide is a loop diuretic that makes the kidneys pass more salt and water, increasing the amount of urine. Amiloride is a milder diuretic that helps the body hold on to potassium, balancing the potassium loss that furosemide would otherwise cause.
