Uses of Proact 25 mcg|5 ml Syrup

Proact 25 mcg|5 ml Syrup is used to relieve and prevent wheezing, chest tightness and breathlessness caused by narrowed airways. It is prescribed for asthma, wheezy bronchitis and other chest conditions with airway narrowing, in both adults and children. In Pakistan it is commonly given as a syrup for children with wheezy chests.

How Proact 25 mcg|5 ml Syrup works

Procaterol stimulates beta-2 receptors in the muscles lining the airways, causing them to relax. This widens the airways, making breathing easier. It does not treat the underlying airway inflammation of asthma, which usually needs a preventer medicine.

Possible side effects

Proact 25 mcg|5 ml Syrup may cause a few side effects, which usually ease as the body gets used to it. These include:

• Shakiness or tremor
• Fast or pounding heartbeat
• Headache
• Nervousness or restlessness
• Nausea
