Ceframed Forte

Ceframed Forte contains Cephradine, a first-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. Made by Polyfine, it is prescribed for throat and tonsil infections, chest infections, urinary tract infections, ear infections, and skin and soft tissue infections. Pack size: 60ml suspension.

Uses of Ceframed Forte

Ceframed Forte is used for common bacterial infections such as sore throat and tonsillitis, bronchitis and other chest infections, ear infections, urinary tract infections, and infections of the skin and soft tissue, including infected wounds and boils. The injection form is also used to prevent infection around surgery.

How Ceframed Forte works

Cephradine stops bacteria from building a strong cell wall, so they weaken and die.

Possible side effects

Common side effects of Ceframed Forte include:

• Diarrhoea
• Nausea
• Stomach upset
• Skin rash

Stop and get medical help straight away if you notice swelling of the face or throat, difficulty breathing, a severe skin rash, or severe or bloody diarrhoea.

Precautions and warnings

• Tell your doctor if you have ever had an allergic reaction to any antibiotic, especially penicillins or cephalosporins.
• Finish the full course your doctor prescribes, even if you feel better earlier. Stopping early can let the infection return and makes resistance more likely.
• Let your doctor know if you have kidney or liver disease.
• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, use Ceframed Forte only after speaking to your doctor.
• Do not share your antibiotics with others or keep leftover medicine for future use.

Storage

Store the dry powder below 30°C in a dry place. Once mixed with water, follow the storage and discard instructions printed on the pack, and shake well before each use. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children.
