Uses of Actifid Dm Cough Syrup

Actifid Dm Cough Syrup is used to relieve symptoms of hay fever and other allergies, such as sneezing, a runny nose, itchy watery eyes and itchy skin. It is often included in cough and cold remedies, sometimes combined with a decongestant, to dry up a runny nose. It eases symptoms but does not treat the underlying cause of a cold.

How Actifid Dm Cough Syrup works

Triprolidine blocks H1 histamine receptors. Histamine is released by the body during an allergic reaction and causes sneezing, itching and a runny nose; blocking it reduces these symptoms. It also crosses into the brain, which explains its drowsy effect.
