Uses of Biopred 5mg/5mg/10,000units Drops

Biopred 5mg/5mg/10,000units Drops are used for inflammatory eye conditions where a bacterial infection is present or likely, such as inflamed bacterial conjunctivitis, blepharitis and inflammation after eye surgery. They may also be prescribed for infected and inflamed outer ear canals. They are intended for short-term use under a doctor’s supervision.

How Biopred 5mg/5mg/10,000units Drops works

Prednisolone is a corticosteroid that reduces redness, swelling, itching and pain. Neomycin and polymyxin B are two antibiotics that work in different ways to kill a wide range of bacteria, including Pseudomonas.

Possible side effects

Biopred 5mg/5mg/10,000units Drops side effects are usually local. They may include:

• Brief stinging or burning
• Temporarily blurred vision
• Itching or redness
• Watery eyes

Precautions and warnings

• Do not use Biopred 5mg/5mg/10,000units Drops for viral eye infections such as herpes, or for fungal infections, as the steroid can make them worse.
• Using steroid eye drops for longer than prescribed can raise eye pressure and cause cataracts, so attend follow-up checks.
• Do not use in the ear if the eardrum may be perforated, unless your doctor has checked.
• Remove contact lenses during treatment, and avoid driving until your vision is clear.
• Tell your doctor if you are allergic to aminoglycoside antibiotics, and use in pregnancy or breastfeeding only on medical advice.

Storage
