Cefia 100mg Syrup contains Cefixime 100mg, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. Made by Highnoon Laboratories Ltd, it is prescribed for typhoid fever, urinary tract infections, throat and tonsil infections, ear infections, chest infections and uncomplicated gonorrhoea. Pack size: 30ml.

Uses of Cefia 100mg Syrup

Cefia 100mg Syrup is used to treat infections caused by bacteria that are sensitive to cefixime. In Pakistan it is widely prescribed for typhoid fever, and it is also used for urinary tract infections, sore throat and tonsillitis, middle ear infections, bronchitis and some sexually transmitted infections. It does not work against viral infections such as the common cold or flu.

How Cefia 100mg Syrup works

Cefixime stops bacteria from building their protective cell wall. Without a stable wall the bacteria break down and die, which allows the body to clear the infection. Symptoms often start to improve within a few days, but the infection is only fully treated when the whole course is finished.

Possible side effects
