Uses of Cefim Syrup 60ml

Cefim Syrup 60ml is used to treat infections caused by bacteria that are sensitive to cefixime. In Pakistan it is widely prescribed for typhoid fever, and it is also used for urinary tract infections, sore throat and tonsillitis, middle ear infections, bronchitis and some sexually transmitted infections. It does not work against viral infections such as the common cold or flu.

How Cefim Syrup 60ml works

Cefixime stops bacteria from building their protective cell wall. Without a stable wall the bacteria break down and die, which allows the body to clear the infection. Symptoms often start to improve within a few days, but the infection is only fully treated when the whole course is finished.
