Uses of Co-Trupril 20/12.5mg Tablet

Co-Trupril 20/12.5mg Tablet is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension), usually in people whose blood pressure has not been well controlled on a single medicine. Bringing blood pressure down over the long term lowers the risk of stroke, heart attack, heart failure and kidney damage. High blood pressure often has no symptoms, so it is important to keep taking it even when you feel well.

How Co-Trupril 20/12.5mg Tablet works

Lisinopril is an ACE inhibitor that blocks the formation of angiotensin II, a hormone that narrows blood vessels, so the vessels relax and widen. Precautions and warnings

• Do not take it if you are pregnant or planning a pregnancy, as it can harm the unborn baby; tell your doctor straight away if you become pregnant.
• Tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver disease, gout, diabetes or a history of angioedema.
• Avoid potassium supplements or salt substitutes unless advised, and check before taking anti-inflammatory painkillers or lithium.
• Stand up slowly to reduce dizziness, and take extra care with fluids if you have vomiting or diarrhoea.
• Your doctor will check your kidney function and salt levels with blood tests, and hydrochlorothiazide can make your skin more sensitive to the sun.

Storage

Store below 30°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep it in the original pack until use. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children.
