Uses of Combinol-D Syrup

Combinol-D Syrup is a cough syrup used for short-term relief of a troublesome cough together with cold or allergy symptoms, such as a runny or blocked nose, sneezing and watery eyes. It is mainly suited to irritating coughs linked to colds and allergies. It eases symptoms only, and a cough lasting more than a few weeks should be checked by a doctor.

How Combinol-D Syrup works

Chlorpheniramine is an antihistamine that reduces sneezing and runny nose. Dextromethorphan calms the cough reflex in the brain. Ephedrine opens the airways slightly and clears nasal congestion, while ammonium chloride and terpin hydrate are expectorants that help loosen mucus in the chest.

• Tell your doctor if you have high blood pressure, heart disease, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, an enlarged prostate, asthma or liver or kidney disease.
• It can make you drowsy, so avoid driving and alcohol while taking it.
• Do not give it to children under 6 years, and check with a doctor before using it in older children.
• Avoid it during pregnancy and breastfeeding unless your doctor advises it, and use it only for a short time.

Storage

Store below 30°C, away from direct sunlight. Keep the bottle tightly closed and do not use it after the expiry date or the period stated on the label once opened. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children.
