Uses of Coralan 5mg Tablet

Coralan 5mg Tablet is used to treat long-term (chronic) heart failure in adults whose heart rate stays high despite other treatment, such as beta-blockers. It is also used for stable angina, the chest pain that comes on with exertion, in people who cannot take beta-blockers or need extra help controlling their heart rate. A slower heart rate gives the heart more time to fill and less work to do.

How Coralan 5mg Tablet works

Ivabradine acts on the sinus node, the heart’s natural pacemaker, blocking the electrical current that sets how often it fires. This slows the heart rate without weakening the force of each beat or lowering blood pressure, so the heart uses less oxygen and pumps more efficiently.

• Brief bright flashes or halos in vision, often in changing light
• Slow heartbeat

• The visual flashes usually fade over time, but take care when driving at night or when light levels change suddenly.
• Avoid grapefruit juice, and tell your doctor about all other medicines, as diltiazem, verapamil, clarithromycin and some antifungals must not be taken with it.
• Tell your doctor if you have a heart rhythm problem such as atrial fibrillation, very low blood pressure or liver disease.
• Your doctor will check your heart rate regularly, especially when treatment starts or the dose changes.
• It must not be used during pregnancy, and women who could become pregnant should use reliable contraception.
