Disprin Tablet

Disprin Tablet contains Aspirin, an antiplatelet and pain-relieving medicine. Made by Reckitt & Benckiser, it is used for prevention of heart attack and stroke (low dose), pain, fever and inflammation (higher dose). Pack size: 100 tablets.

Uses of Disprin Tablet

Low-dose Disprin Tablet (75 to 150mg) is used every day, on a doctor’s advice, to help prevent heart attacks and strokes in people with heart disease, after stents or bypass surgery, or after a stroke. Higher-strength tablets are used for pain, fever and inflammation in adults.

How Disprin Tablet works

Aspirin blocks the COX enzymes. At low doses this mainly stops platelets from sticking together, which reduces the risk of clots; at higher doses it also reduces the prostaglandins that cause pain, fever and swelling.

Common side effects of Disprin Tablet include:

• Indigestion or stomach irritation
• Nausea
• Easy bruising or minor bleeding

Get medical help if you have black or bloody stools, vomit blood, have wheezing or swelling of the face, or notice unusual bleeding.

Precautions and warnings

• Do not give aspirin to children under 16 unless a doctor prescribes it, because of the risk of Reye’s syndrome.
• If you take low-dose aspirin for your heart, do not stop it without speaking to your doctor.
• Tell your doctor if you have a stomach ulcer, bleeding disorder, asthma, gout, or kidney or liver disease, or take blood thinners.
• Avoid it in the last three months of pregnancy unless your doctor prescribes it.

Storage

Store below 30°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep it in the original pack until use. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children.
