Uses of E Clar 250mg/5ml Syrup

E Clar 250mg/5ml Syrup is used for bacterial infections of the chest, throat, tonsils, sinuses and ears, and for skin and soft tissue infections. It is also an important part of combination treatment, together with other medicines, to clear Helicobacter pylori, the stomach bacteria linked to peptic ulcers.

How E Clar 250mg/5ml Syrup works

Clarithromycin attaches to the part of the bacteria that makes proteins and stops it working, so the bacteria cannot grow or multiply.

Common side effects of E Clar 250mg/5ml Syrup include:

• A metallic or bitter taste in the mouth
• Nausea, diarrhoea or stomach pain
• Headache
• Difficulty sleeping
