Uses of Lacolep Syrup 100ml

Lacolep Syrup 100ml is used to control partial-onset (focal) seizures, which start in one area of the brain and may or may not spread. It can be taken on its own or added to other epilepsy medicines, and it is also used as an add-on treatment for primary generalised tonic-clonic seizures. In hospital it may be given into a vein when tablets cannot be taken.

How Lacolep Syrup 100ml works

Lacosamide calms overactive nerve cells by enhancing the slow inactivation of their sodium channels. This makes it harder for nerve cells to fire repeatedly in the rapid bursts that cause a seizure, while normal nerve signalling carries on.

Possible side effects
