Minicol Suspension 120ml is used to relieve trapped wind, bloating and the discomfort that comes with them. It is commonly given as drops for babies with colic and is also found in many antacid and indigestion products for adults. It is sometimes used before abdominal scans to reduce gas in the gut.

How Minicol Suspension 120ml works

Simethicone (also called simeticone) works by changing the surface tension of gas bubbles in the stomach and intestines. Small bubbles join together into larger ones that are easier to pass as wind or burping. It is not absorbed into the body.

Possible side effects

Minicol Suspension 120ml is very well tolerated, and side effects are rare. Occasionally people notice:

• Mild nausea
• Constipation
• Loose stools
• Skin rash or itching (rare)
