Uses of Natrilix SR Tablet

Natrilix SR Tablet is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Keeping blood pressure under control lowers the risk of stroke, heart attack, heart failure and kidney damage. It can be used on its own or together with other blood pressure medicines, and it is usually taken long term even when you feel well.

How Natrilix SR Tablet works

Indapamide acts on the kidneys to increase the amount of salt and water passed in the urine. It also relaxes the walls of blood vessels. Together these effects reduce the pressure inside the arteries.

Possible side effects

Many people take Natrilix SR Tablet without problems. Common side effects can include:

• Low potassium levels
• Dizziness, especially when standing up
• Headache
• Tiredness
• Muscle cramps
• Passing more urine

Get medical help straight away if you have a fast or irregular heartbeat, severe muscle weakness, confusion or fainting, a severe skin rash with blistering, or swelling of the face or throat.

Precautions and warnings

• Your doctor may check your blood salts, such as potassium and sodium, and kidney function from time to time.
• Tell your doctor if you have kidney or liver disease, gout, diabetes or a heart rhythm problem.
• Let your doctor know if you take lithium, digoxin, other diuretics, steroids or anti-inflammatory painkillers, as these can interact with Natrilix SR Tablet.
• It is not usually recommended in pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
• It can make the skin more sensitive to sunlight, so use sun protection.

Storage

Store below 30°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep it in the original pack until use. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children.
