Uses of Neomercazole 5mg Tablet

Neomercazole 5mg Tablet is used to treat an overactive thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism), including Graves’ disease. It helps relieve symptoms such as a fast heartbeat, weight loss, sweating, shaking and anxiety. It may be used as long-term treatment, or to bring the thyroid under control before surgery or radioactive iodine treatment. Symptoms usually improve over several weeks.

How Neomercazole 5mg Tablet works

Carbimazole is converted in the body to methimazole, which blocks an enzyme the thyroid gland needs to make thyroid hormones. As hormone levels fall, the body’s metabolism slows back towards normal.
