Uses of Omicin 500mg Capsule

Omicin 500mg Capsule is used to treat serious bacterial infections, particularly in people who cannot take penicillin because of an allergy. It may be given by injection or as capsules for infections of the skin and soft tissues, bones and joints, chest, throat and teeth. Because of the risk of bowel side effects, it is usually kept for situations where other antibiotics are not suitable. It does not treat viral infections.

How Omicin 500mg Capsule works

Lincomycin attaches to the parts of the bacterial cell that make proteins. Without these proteins the bacteria cannot grow or multiply, which gives the immune system the chance to clear the infection. It works mainly against gram-positive bacteria such as streptococci and staphylococci, and against some anaerobic bacteria.

Possible side effects
