Pulmonol Syrup

Pulmonol Syrup is a syrup made by CCL Pharmaceuticals Ltd that contains Chlorpheniramine + Terpin Hydrate + Ammonium Chloride + Aminophylline + Menthol + Potassium Bicarbonate, a bronchodilator, expectorant and antihistamine cough syrup. It is used for productive cough, bronchitis, cough with wheezing, chest congestion and allergic cough. Pack size: pulmonol syrup 120ml.

Uses of Pulmonol Syrup

Pulmonol Syrup is used to relieve chesty cough with thick phlegm, especially when there is also wheeze, chest tightness or an allergic element such as a runny nose. It is often used in bronchitis and in coughs following colds. It helps loosen phlegm and ease breathing but does not treat bacterial infection.

How Pulmonol Syrup works

Aminophylline releases theophylline, which relaxes the airway muscles. Terpin hydrate and ammonium chloride are expectorants that help loosen and bring up phlegm. Chlorpheniramine is an antihistamine that reduces allergic symptoms. Menthol soothes the throat, and potassium bicarbonate is included as an alkalinising salt.

• Headache
• Restlessness

Seek urgent medical help if you have repeated vomiting, a very fast or irregular heartbeat, fits, confusion, or swelling of the face and breathing difficulty.

Precautions and warnings

• Tell your doctor if you have heart disease, epilepsy, a stomach ulcer, an overactive thyroid, liver or kidney disease, glaucoma or an enlarged prostate.
• Theophylline interacts with several medicines, such as ciprofloxacin, erythromycin and some epilepsy medicines, so tell your doctor about everything you take.
• Do not take it with other theophylline products, and reduce tea, coffee and energy drinks.
• It can cause drowsiness, so avoid alcohol and take care with driving.
• Use in young children, pregnancy or breastfeeding only on a doctor’s advice.

Storage
