Uses of Renavit Tablets

Renavit Tablets is used to prevent and correct a shortage of B vitamins, which can occur with a poor diet, heavy alcohol use, recovery from illness, pregnancy or certain long-term medicines. Low levels may show as tiredness, mouth ulcers, a sore tongue, cracked corners of the mouth or tingling in the hands and feet. Doctors often prescribe it as a general supplement alongside other treatment.

How Renavit Tablets works

B vitamins such as thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, pyridoxine and cyanocobalamin act as helpers for the enzymes that turn food into energy. They are also needed for healthy nerves, skin and the lining of the mouth, and for making red blood cells. The body stores little of most B vitamins, so regular intake matters.

Possible side effects

Renavit Tablets rarely causes problems at normal amounts. Effects people sometimes notice include:

• Bright yellow urine (harmless)
• Mild nausea or stomach upset
• Unpleasant taste
• Flushing with products containing niacin
• Pain at the injection site (injections)

Seek medical help straight away for signs of an allergic reaction, such as rash, swelling of the face or difficulty breathing, particularly after an injection.

Precautions and warnings

• Do not take very high doses for long periods without advice; too much vitamin B6 over a long time can cause numbness in the hands and feet.
• Tell your doctor if you take levodopa for Parkinson’s disease, as vitamin B6 can affect some levodopa products.
• A supplement is not a substitute for finding the cause of ongoing tiredness, numbness or anaemia, so see a doctor if symptoms continue.
• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, ask your doctor which product is suitable.
• Keep it out of the reach of children.

Storage

Store below 30°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep it in the original pack until use. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children.
