Uses of Risek Insta Sachets 20mg

Risek Insta Sachets 20mg is used to reduce stomach acid in conditions such as gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD), heartburn, stomach and duodenal ulcers, and inflammation of the food pipe caused by acid. The sodium bicarbonate allows omeprazole to be absorbed quickly without a special coating, so it starts working faster than some standard capsules. It may also be used in hospital to lower the risk of stomach bleeding in critically ill patients.

How Risek Insta Sachets 20mg works

Omeprazole blocks the proton pump, the final step that stomach lining cells use to release acid, so much less acid is produced. Because omeprazole is easily broken down by acid, sodium bicarbonate is added to briefly neutralise the stomach and protect it, allowing rapid absorption.
