Uses of Sildoso 8mg Capsule

Sildoso 8mg Capsule is used in men to relieve urinary symptoms caused by an enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia). It can improve a weak or interrupted stream, reduce straining and the feeling of incomplete emptying, and cut down on frequent or night-time urination. It eases symptoms but does not shrink the prostate.

How Sildoso 8mg Capsule works

Silodosin blocks alpha-1A receptors in the smooth muscle of the prostate, bladder neck and urethra. This relaxes the muscle, widening the passage so urine can flow out more easily. It is fairly selective for the prostate, so it has less effect on blood pressure than some older alpha-blockers.

Possible side effects

Sildoso 8mg Capsule is generally well tolerated. The side effects most often reported are:

• Little or no semen on ejaculation
• Dizziness, especially on standing
• Blocked nose
• Diarrhoea
• Headache

Seek medical help if you faint or feel very dizzy, or if you have swelling of the face or throat or difficulty breathing.

Precautions and warnings

• Tell your eye surgeon you take Sildoso 8mg Capsule before cataract or glaucoma surgery, as it can affect the iris during the operation.
• Tell your doctor if you have liver or kidney problems or low blood pressure.
• It should not be taken with strong medicines such as ketoconazole or itraconazole, and care is needed with other alpha-blockers and erectile dysfunction medicines.
• Stand up slowly, and avoid driving if you feel dizzy, especially when starting treatment.
• Reduced semen is common and harmless, but it may affect fertility while you take it.

Storage

Store below 30°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep it in the original pack until use. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children.
