Uses of Tamsolin Plus Capsules

Tamsolin Plus Capsules is used in men with a moderately to severely enlarged prostate (benign prostatic hyperplasia) to relieve urinary symptoms such as a weak stream, difficulty starting, needing to pass urine often or urgently, and getting up at night. It also lowers the risk of sudden inability to pass urine and the need for prostate surgery. It is not a treatment for prostate cancer.

How Tamsolin Plus Capsules works

This capsule combines two medicines. Tamsulosin relaxes the muscles in the prostate and bladder neck, so urine flows more easily and symptoms ease fairly quickly. Dutasteride blocks the conversion of testosterone to DHT, a hormone that drives prostate growth, so the prostate gradually shrinks over several months.

• If you are having cataract or glaucoma surgery, tell your eye surgeon beforehand, as tamsulosin can affect the iris during the operation.
• Get up slowly from sitting or lying, and avoid driving if you feel dizzy.
• Do not donate blood while taking it and for at least six months after stopping.
