Uses of Ulcocid Suspension 60ml

Ulcocid Suspension 60ml is used to help heal stomach (gastric) and duodenal ulcers and to protect them from further damage while they heal. It may also be used for chronic gastritis and, in hospital, to prevent stress ulcers in seriously ill patients. Your doctor may also check for and treat Helicobacter pylori infection, a common cause of ulcers.

How Ulcocid Suspension 60ml works

Sucralfate reacts with stomach acid to form a sticky, paste-like layer that binds to the ulcer surface. This acts as a protective barrier against acid, pepsin and bile, giving the ulcer time to heal. Very little of it is absorbed into the body.

Possible side effects

Because very little of Ulcocid Suspension 60ml is absorbed, side effects are uncommon, but they may include:

• Constipation
• Dry mouth
• Nausea
• Indigestion or wind

Precautions and warnings
