Uses of Zultracet Tablets

Zultracet Tablets is used for the short-term relief of moderate to severe pain, such as pain after an injury, an operation or dental treatment, when paracetamol or anti-inflammatory painkillers on their own have not been enough. Combining two painkillers that work in different ways gives stronger relief than either alone. It is not intended for long-term, everyday pain.

How Zultracet Tablets works

Tramadol is an opioid that acts on pain receptors in the brain and spinal cord, and it also increases serotonin and noradrenaline, which dampen pain signals. Paracetamol works mainly in the brain to reduce pain and fever. Together they relieve pain more effectively than either ingredient on its own.

Precautions and warnings

• Tramadol is a controlled medicine that can cause dependence; take it only as prescribed and do not stop suddenly after regular use, as withdrawal symptoms can occur.
• Do not take any other product containing paracetamol at the same time, as too much paracetamol can seriously damage the liver.
• Tell your doctor if you have epilepsy, breathing problems, liver or kidney disease, or take antidepressants, as some combinations raise the risk of fits or serotonin syndrome.
• Avoid alcohol, sleeping pills and other sedatives, and do not drive if you feel drowsy or dizzy.
• It is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for children under 12.
