Montit 5mg Chewable Tablet is used for the long-term control of asthma in adults and children, and to help prevent narrowing of the airways triggered by exercise. It is also used to relieve symptoms of seasonal and year-round allergic rhinitis, such as a blocked or runny nose and sneezing.

How Montit 5mg Chewable Tablet works

Montelukast blocks leukotrienes, chemicals released in the airways that cause swelling, mucus and tightening of the airway muscles. This helps keep the airways open. It is a preventer, not a reliever, so it does not stop an asthma attack that has already started.
