This tablet lowers cholesterol in two complementary ways. Rosuvastatin, a statin, blocks an enzyme the liver needs to make cholesterol, while ezetimibe reduces the amount of cholesterol absorbed from food in the intestine. Together they lower LDL cholesterol more than either medicine alone.
