Ebedoce 20mg Infusion is an infusion made by Novartis Pharma (pakistan)ltd that contains Docetaxel 20mg, a taxane chemotherapy medicine. It is used for breast cancer, prostate cancer, lung cancer, stomach cancer and head and neck cancer. Pack size: 1 vial infusion.
Uses of Ebedoce 20mg Infusion
Ebedoce 20mg Infusion is used to treat several types of cancer, including breast cancer, prostate cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, stomach cancer and some head and neck cancers. It may be used after surgery, before surgery to shrink a tumour, or for advanced cancer, often together with other cancer medicines. It is given as a drip into a vein in hospital, usually in cycles a few weeks apart.
How Ebedoce 20mg Infusion works
Docetaxel binds to microtubules, the internal scaffolding that cells use to separate their chromosomes when they divide. By locking this scaffolding in place, it stops cancer cells from dividing, and they die.
Possible side effects
Ebedoce 20mg Infusion commonly causes side effects, which your cancer team will help manage, including:
- Hair loss
- Low blood counts and higher risk of infection
- Tiredness and weakness
- Nail changes
- Mouth sores
- Fluid retention and swollen ankles
Contact your cancer team immediately if you develop a fever or feel shivery, have difficulty breathing, chest tightness or swelling during the infusion, severe diarrhoea, or sudden weight gain with swelling.
Precautions and warnings
- Given only under a cancer specialist with regular blood tests.
- Report fever, sore throat or bruising at once.
- You will usually be given steroid tablets around each treatment to reduce fluid retention and allergic reactions; take them exactly as directed.
- Tell your team if you have liver problems, as this affects how safely the medicine can be given.
- It can harm an unborn baby, so use effective contraception during and after treatment, and do not breastfeed.
Storage
Store as directed on the pack, protected from light. Injections should only be prepared and given by a doctor, nurse or other trained healthcare professional. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children.
