Uses of Acylex Suspension 200mg

Acylex Suspension 200mg is used to treat infections caused by herpes viruses, including cold sores, genital herpes, shingles and chickenpox. It also helps prevent repeated outbreaks of genital herpes and protects people with weakened immunity from herpes infections. It works best when started early, ideally at the first tingle or as soon as the rash appears. It controls outbreaks but does not remove the virus from the body.

How Acylex Suspension 200mg works

Acyclovir is taken up by cells infected with the herpes virus and converted into an active form that blocks the enzyme the virus uses to copy its DNA. The virus can no longer multiply, so the outbreak heals faster and symptoms are less severe, while healthy cells are largely unaffected.
