Uses of Clavir 60 mg Tablets / Sofohil Tablets

Clavir 60 mg Tablets / Sofohil Tablets is used to treat long-term (chronic) hepatitis C virus infection in adults. This combination works against several hepatitis C genotypes, including genotype 3, which is common in Pakistan, and it is widely used in hepatitis C treatment programmes. Successful treatment clears the virus from the blood and lowers the risk of liver scarring, cirrhosis and liver cancer. It is sometimes given together with ribavirin.

How Clavir 60 mg Tablets / Sofohil Tablets works

Sofosbuvir blocks the NS5B polymerase, the enzyme the hepatitis C virus uses to copy its genetic material. Daclatasvir blocks a different viral protein, NS5A, which the virus needs to replicate and assemble. Attacking two targets at once stops the virus multiplying and makes resistance less likely.
