Uses of Contine 10mg Tablet

Contine 10mg Tablet is used to treat the symptoms of moderate to severe Alzheimer’s disease, such as memory loss, confusion and difficulty with everyday tasks. It may be used on its own or added to a cholinesterase inhibitor such as donepezil. It does not stop the disease, but in some people it can slow the worsening of symptoms for a time and help with daily functioning.

How Contine 10mg Tablet works

Memantine blocks NMDA receptors in the brain. In Alzheimer’s disease, too much glutamate activity at these receptors is thought to damage nerve cells. By damping down this excess signalling while allowing normal signals through, memantine helps preserve communication between brain cells.
