DHL Lotion 70ml is used for diffuse hair loss. Use it exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has advised, and do not use it for longer than recommended.

Tincture capsicum 5% and tincture cantharides 5% in ammoniated spirit base.

How DHL Lotion 70ml works

Tincture of cantharides is a counter-irritant. On the scalp it causes mild irritation and increased blood flow, which is thought to encourage hair growth in conditions such as alopecia areata.

Tincture of capsicum is a rubefacient. It warms the scalp and increases local blood flow, which is thought to stimulate the hair follicles.

Possible side effects

Most people use this product without problems. Some may notice:

• Burning, redness or blistering of the scalp if too much is applied
• Warmth, burning or redness of the scalp

Precautions

• Apply only to the scalp and do not use it on broken or inflamed skin. Wash your hands after applying.
• Do a small patch test first, and keep it away from the eyes, lips, inside of the nose and broken skin unless your doctor says otherwise.
• Stop using it and see your doctor if you notice severe redness, swelling, blistering or a rash.
• Ask your doctor or pharmacist before using it on children, or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
• Keep out of reach of children and store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
