Lotricort-G Cream

Lotricort-G Cream, made by Dermagen, is a combination of an antifungal, a steroid and an antibiotic for the skin. Its active ingredient is Clotrimazole + Betamethasone + Gentamicin, and it is used for fungal skin infections, eczema with infection and inflamed skin infections. Pack size: 15 gm cream.

Uses of Lotricort-G Cream

Lotricort-G Cream is used for skin conditions where there is inflammation together with a possible fungal or bacterial infection, such as infected eczema, inflamed fungal rashes and some types of dermatitis. It should be used only when a doctor has decided that all three ingredients are needed.

How Lotricort-G Cream works

Clotrimazole kills fungi and yeasts by damaging their cell membrane. Gentamicin is an antibiotic that stops bacteria from making proteins. Betamethasone is a strong corticosteroid that quickly reduces itching, redness and swelling.

Possible side effects

Side effects are usually mild and limited to the skin, such as:

• Burning or stinging
• Itching
• Dryness
• Skin thinning with long use

Stop and see your doctor if the rash spreads, gets worse, or if you notice signs of an allergic reaction.

Precautions and warnings

• Use only for the time your doctor advises, usually no longer than two weeks.
• Do not use on the face, groin or under bandages unless your doctor tells you to.
• Not for use in the eyes or on open wounds over large areas.
• Ask your doctor before using it in pregnancy, breastfeeding or on children.

Storage

Store below 30°C and keep the cap tightly closed. For external use only; avoid contact with the eyes unless the product is made for eye use. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children.
