Loxiam 60mg Tablet contains Raloxifene 60mg, a selective oestrogen receptor modulator. Made by Amarant Caraway Pharmaceutical, it is prescribed for osteoporosis after menopause and reducing breast cancer risk. Pack size: 2×7 tablets.

Uses of Loxiam 60mg Tablet

Loxiam 60mg Tablet is used to prevent and treat osteoporosis (thinning of the bones) in women after the menopause, lowering the risk of spinal fractures. In some women at increased risk, it may also be prescribed to reduce the chance of developing invasive breast cancer. It is not used in men or in women before the menopause, and it does not relieve hot flushes.

How Loxiam 60mg Tablet works

Raloxifene acts like oestrogen on bone, slowing bone loss and helping to maintain bone density, but it blocks oestrogen’s effects in breast and womb tissue. This selective action lets it protect the skeleton without stimulating the breast or the lining of the womb.

Possible side effects

• Swelling of the hands, feet or ankles
• Flu-like symptoms

Precautions and warnings
