Mycon-H 1%| 2% Cream is a cream made by Valor Pharmaceuticals that contains Hydrocortisone + Miconazole 1%, a mild steroid and antifungal skin cream. It is used for inflamed fungal skin infections, athlete's foot, jock itch, ringworm, intertrigo and candida nappy rash. Pack size: 10gm cream.

Uses of Mycon-H 1%| 2% Cream

Mycon-H 1%| 2% Cream is used to treat skin infections caused by fungi or yeasts (such as candida) when the skin is also red, itchy and inflamed. Examples include athlete’s foot, jock itch, ringworm, infections in skin folds (intertrigo) and some nappy rashes. It can also be used for inflamed skin where a mixed fungal and bacterial infection is suspected, as advised by a doctor.

How Mycon-H 1%| 2% Cream works

Miconazole is an antifungal that damages the outer membrane of fungi and yeasts so they cannot survive, and it also has some activity against certain bacteria. Hydrocortisone is a mild corticosteroid that quickly calms the redness, swelling and itching while the infection clears.

Possible side effects

Mycon-H 1%| 2% Cream is applied to the skin and side effects are uncommon. Some people get:

• Mild burning or stinging when applied
• Skin irritation
• Itching
• Redness at the application site

Stop using it and seek medical help if you develop a severe skin reaction, blistering, swelling of the face or lips, or signs that the infection is spreading.

Precautions and warnings

• Use it only for as long as your doctor recommends, as steroid creams can thin the skin with prolonged use, especially on the face and in skin folds.
• Do not cover the area with tight or airtight dressings unless advised; for nappy rash, be aware that nappies increase how much is absorbed.
• Do not use it on untreated bacterial or viral skin infections such as cold sores, chickenpox or impetigo, or near the eyes.
• Tell your doctor if you take warfarin, as miconazole can increase its effect even when used on the skin.

Storage

Store below 30°C and keep the cap tightly closed. For external use only; avoid contact with the eyes unless the product is made for eye use. Keep all medicines out of the reach of children.
